Our Genealogy and a tribute to our Ancestors-Let us create!

Dear Havyakas,                                                                      Nov. 29, 2003

Holiday times are Family times! Families come together and have a quality time! It is also the time when we remember other members who are not with us! But they are in our memories! How about writing about our family members, ancestors, inherited Genes, or Genealogy or simply put our Family Tree during this family time! Let us see how many generations we can trace our genes! It will be a great time to document our genealogy for the benefit of the present and future generations!

While drawing our unique family tree, one may remember those special person, or interesting stories and incidences about few of the ancestors…! If so, once again it is an excellent time to document them in your own creative words!

If you can jot down these links of genes or memories it could be shared with other closely or distantly related havyakas. It may rekindle the network! If submitted to the e-mail address given below, it can be published and circulated through a proposed electronic Journal of HAA. It can be preserved with in a proposed library of HAA or presented within the HAA web page that is being transformed into a resourceful site to all havyakas especially the youngsters!

Once you have accomplished in compiling these valuable information, the most beneficiaries of these documents will be the present and future generation youth. They will have a clear path to trace their curiosity and the roots. Moreover, the interesting stories, the hard work, commitment to excellence, beliefs, contributions and accomplishments of their ancestors will enrich the intellectual capacity of our youth.

So do join minds and hands during the quality family times.  Here is one of the many web links that may be useful in making a family tree! http://www.genealogy.com/index_r.html If these two family aspects can be accomplished, it will be the youngsters who will be thankful.

After all, it is only fifty years ago the modern scientists discovered the DNA, our blue print and have started to follow the gene traits. It is really amazing that our ancestors had discovered the importance of inherited gene pools several thousands of years ago and established the “Gothra” system to track the origin of genes we all inherited! Can we trace back to those saints who wrote noble Vedas? Yes. if the “genes” were to be “carved in stone” by our great ancestors! Now it is our turn to create and preserve our own database of “gene links” and “genealogy”!

Have a wonderful holiday time and family time!

 Best Regards,

 "Bheem"
